The University of Calgary's Afro-Cuban Vocal Ensemble, "Coro Canuba", performs Cuban music lead by Masacote's Vicky Oveson and joined by special guests.

Masacote was an eclectic Afro-Cuban ensemble that presented to audiences a blend of funk, pop and jazz with a strong Cuban undercurrent - an intoxicating sensory elixir. Under the direction of the late arranger & composer, Vicky Oveson, Masacote generated high-energy, diversified performances appealing to a multitude of listeners. Vicky's spirited compositions and arrangements placed truly authentic elements of Cuban music within a Canadian context and revealed the underlying concept of the group - collaboration between Cuban and Canadian artistry.
