This is a modern arrangement of the popular Latin jazz standard by Chucho Valdés. It was originally written for four horns in 2008, modified for five horns in 2009, and since then, has been adapted to a variety of different ensembles including a Latin jazz quartet.
The free download is the full version from 2009 (with five horns) and includes two percussion parts (drums & congas) as well as piano and bass, for a total of nine parts. There is also a master score included in the download.
This is a popular Latin ballad oldie by Armando Manzanero, arranged as a very straight-forward Latin jazz bolero. This instrumental arrangement is super simple and to the point, but the carefully selected chords create a very suspended, airy texture and a beautiful modern jazz sound.
The free download contains the full version (for a quartet) as well as the master score.
A sample transcription of Rubén Rodriguez' bass on Marc Anthony's popular salsa hit. This was a very quick, last minute transcription for a live show so rehearsal marks are absent from this sample, but it still gives you an idea of my bass charts...
This is one of the more popular songs I have transcribed - I've had a ton of requests for transcriptions and arrangements of this song since early 2009, ranging from large salsa bands with full horn sections, to smaller single horn ensembles.
Yo No Sé Mañana won "Tropical Airplay Song of the Year" at the 2009 Billboard Latin Music Awards and "Best Tropical Song" at the 2009 Latin Grammy Awards. In the same year, the album Ciclos also won a Latin Grammy for "Best Salsa Album", and a Grammy for "Best Tropical Latin Album".
The free download (transcription) contains a full version with six horns, bass, piano, percussion and also a lyric sheet with rehearsal markings, for a total of ten parts. There is also a master score included in the download.
